The Duke of Sussex is ‘homesick and unhappy’ as his wife Meghan Markle tries to make him feel settled to have a ‘perfect LA life,’ royal author Duncan Larcombe claims.
Mr. Larcombe said that Prince Harry playing polo in California shows that he is falling back on a sport he used to love when he was still living in the UK.
His remarks came after Meghan and Harry flew back to the United States after their short visit to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in their $13million mansion in Montecito. Despite their luxurious lifestyle, the royal expert believes that the father-of-two’s ‘self-imposed exile’ may be making him unhappy, the Daily Star reported.
Mr. Larcombe told Closer: “He seems homesick to me. Harry’s suddenly playing polo again and drinking with his new friends – all things he used to enjoy doing in the UK.
“Meghan is cheering him on on the sidelines, helping create this perfect LA life for him to justify what he’s given up in the UK. But something doesn’t seem to sit right. Harry looks unhappy.”
“He is living out there in self-imposed exile and Harry is a very sociable person,” Mr. Larcombe continued.
“In his formative years he had lots of friends – including his estranged brother William – and was always spending time with them.”
The royal author also claimed that the Duke of Sussex must sometimes wonder if everything he gave up was worth it.
It has been more than two years since Meghan and Harry announced that they were stepping down from their royal duties.
Two months after their announcement, they flew to LA and have since amassed a long list of celebrity friends who reside in Montecito, including Oprah Winfrey and Katy Perry, and Orlando Bloom.
