It was in 2020 when the photos of the giant golden-crowned flying fox first went viral on social media.

His post has quickly gone viral and even though many said that the images were photoshopped, people have been stunned to learn that the photos are actually genuine.

Fact-checking experts Snopes reportedly investigated the photos and found that they “truly depicts an animal that exists in the real world.”

Internet users believe that the bat is a giant golden-crowned flying fox but Snopes mentioned that there is a chance that the creature could be another species of megabat, known as the Large flying fox.

One person commented: “Beautiful creature, its a bat, not at all scary, people are misinformed about these lovely creatures, they eat fruit not humans!!”

A third added: “Bats are beautiful animals with the dearest, rather dog-like, little faces. I love them a lot more than the screaming idiots who are afraid of them for no known reason.”
