Many of us have shared our Amazon Prime Video or Netflix accounts with someone we trusted but when they do something shady, we simply change the password.
One mother has shared how she noticed a mystery account on her Netflix even though she only shared it with her stepson.
Taking to Mumsnet, the woman explained that her stepson has a kid’s profile but there is also another profile with his name on it but it’s been watching things that are not suitable for children.
“I have a Netflix account, one I had from even before I met my husband, I pay for it myself (we don’t completely share finances). There is a profile on there that my stepson uses which is absolutely fine. He’s young so it’s a kid’s profile,” she wrote.
“However, I’ve noticed there is another profile with his name on that’s an adult’s profile and it’s been watching things that obviously aren’t him. When we asked he said mommy and her partner that one.”
The furious woman is now thinking of changing her password and kicking them off as her stepson doesn’t use it often.
Many people agreed that she should be able to change her Netflix password without a problem because it’s her account and she’s the one paying for it.
One person wrote: “I think Netflix are looking to charge for account sharing so good time to do it. Also you can make your subscription cheaper by only being able to watch one screen at a time.”
Another wrote: “Boot them off. You pay for it. Not her!”
A third said: “Change the password. See what they come back with.”
