A woman has shared how her neighbor humiliated her and branded her a thief just because she did him a favor.
Taking to Mumsnet, the woman expressed her frustration after her small act of kindness turned into public shaming.
“Last night around 8:30 pm a delivery driver asked me to take a parcel for a neighbor a few doors down and said he had knocked on my door as my gate was open,” she wrote.
But the next morning, his furious neighbor banged on her front door.
“He didn’t bother to say hello and only said, ‘where is my parcel’. I explained it came last night,” she went on.
“As I was pushing it down the hallway towards the door he said, ‘no need to be so dramatic there’s no need to pretend it’s too heavy that’s why you didn’t bother to bring it over last night, you just could not be bothered.’”
Her neighbor also called her a ‘waste of space’ and even badmouthed her on the village Facebook group, warning other neighbors that ‘everyone should be careful’ around her as she will ‘take their deliveries to keep to herself.’
“This is not true and unluckily for him – I have this all recorded on the ring doorbell. You can hear us both word for word and see how angry he is in the video,” the woman added.
Her post has gained more than 300 comments, with one person writing: “Absolutely offer to post the doorbell footage.”
Another said: “I’d post it on FB. So rude to call you a thief when you did him a favor. And obviously, never take his parcels in again.”
