A man who thought he was doing something nice to his neighbor was left shocked when he was suddenly accused of stealing.
Taking to Reddit, the man explained that he works from home and he sometimes accept parcels for neighbors who go to work during the day.
“I’ve never had a problem with this, at most it’s only ever a couple a week and it costs me nothing to keep the parcel safe for a few hours,” he said.
Neighbors visit him to collect their parcels until a new couple moved in next door.
“They work a lot, always gone early in the morning, back around 6-7pm. I don’t really know them, just friendly greetings in passing,” he continued.
“I have had to take several parcels in for them, but they don’t come here to collect. The three previous parcels I’ve had to take round to them to which the response has always been ‘oh yeah, I forgot about that’ with quite the lack of interest and not even a ‘thank you.’”
But when he received another box, his neighbor did not come to pick it up.
“When he did, he had a ‘major go’ at him for not delivering his parcel for him,” the poster went on.
The item, which was labeled with the name of a ‘good brand of horse equipment’ and was ‘quite expensive and important.’
The neighbor called him “a lot of names, shouted a bit, got aggressive, and threatened to call the police,” he continued.
“I countered by saying it’s not my responsibility to deliver his parcel, he knew where it was and if he can’t be bothered to collect it, that’s on him.”
Reddit users shared their thoughts on the situation, with one person commenting: “He’s an entitled a**hole. Refuse all his parcels in future. If he objects, tell him that he threatened to have you arrested, and you not do accept the legal liability. Someone who’ll threaten that is not a neighbor who can be trusted.”
Another wrote: “It’s simple. Do not accept or pick up the parcels. It’s either his or the delivery person’s persons problem.”

Donot ever help this man again. I think it’s best to quit taking in any parcels. Let them get stolen.
