A mother and her son were left terrified after spotting what they believe to be the ghost of a young girl in one of the boy’s photos.

Brothers Kristian and Gabriel Ashmore, aged 12 and 14, were enjoying their free time at a local playground when they took a photo and sent it to their mother, 36-year-old Ayesha Wilson-Bent.

In the picture, Gabriel is seen holding his phone and taking a selfie with his younger brother who is smiling inside a pile of tires.

While no one spotted anything unusual with the photo at first, the family was in for a big surprise later that day when Kristian decided to take a closer look at the picture of him and his brother.

As the boy insists, the face of a mystery “ghost girl” appeared in the snap after he brightened the picture and zoomed in on his face.

The brothers then immediately showed their find to Ayesha who first suspected that the boys might have edited the photo. After quizzing her sons, however, the mom was reassured that the photo was not altered except for its level of brightness.

Ayesha has since also revealed that her son was so terrified by the mysterious figure in the photo that he was unable to sleep on his own that night.

Eventually, however, the family began seeing the cool side of the alleged ghost appearance and decided to share their discovery on the internet where people were left divided.

While some believed the girl in the photo could be a ghost, others claimed the picture was altered by an “amateur editor” and suggested one of the boys must have been behind it.

“I do believe in ghosts but I was a little skeptical,” Wilson-Bent said.

“I was like ‘there must be a reason for this,’ so I asked them if they’d added the face on Photoshop. They were both adamant that they hadn’t. I tried to see if I could edit in a face myself, but I couldn’t do it.

“They were so shocked and scared, I knew they hadn’t messed around with the photo. My boys aren’t advanced Photoshop editors. I looked at the times when they took the photo and when they sent it to me – it was literally seconds. There wasn’t time for them to edit it.”

The mom continued: “We’re at the point now where we find the picture more exciting than scary. It’s a rare catch I think. It turned into a bit of excitement where we thought ‘wow, I can’t believe we captured that.’

“I’ve not been able to come up with an explanation for the face. I’ve put it on a few Facebook groups and sent it to family and friends, they’ve been freaked out too.”
