Posting on Reddit, she explained that her MIL has two other children but has showered her youngest son with ‘romance’ cards and gifts after he was expecting his first child with his wife.

“She started showering my husband with gifts – jewelry, money, romance cards/ She started talking about our bedroom life or how we got pregnant,” she wrote.

The woman explained that her mother-in-law has multiple grandchildren but she was ‘acting weird’ about their baby.

When the pregnant mom was having contractions, the mother-in-law made her son sit on the couch with her.

“I watched her rub/squeeze his inner thighs multiple times. Every time she did, he immediately moved away and you could tell it was bothering him. He didn’t say anything,” she continued.

Only days later, the mother-in-law ‘slapped’ her son’s bum before hugging him from behind with ‘her full body pressed to him’ while saying the baby ‘looks just like us.’

“He just kind of looked at her and then looked at me and without thinking, I said ‘Hey MIL, have you ever heard of emotional in**st? If not, maybe look it up and correct your behavior because if this continues you won’t be allowed back here.’”

The woman said she didn’t want her mother-in-law around her child as she was making her uncomfortable.

“My husband won’t talk to me about it at all – literally refuses,” she added.

Reddit users were quick to share their thoughts on the matter, with one person saying: “Omg! That’s absolutely insane! That poor guy must have been mortified!”

Another said: “You need to be gentle with him in how you handle it though. It sounds like he feels embarrassed, humiliated and probably kind of scared about the situation and may be nervous to talk about it. Therapy of some form may be good for him but try not to get angry with him over this, it’s a sensitive situation for him.”
