‘I Kicked My Cousin From My Baby Shower After She RUINED It By Announcing Her Pregnancy’

A woman asked if she was in the wrong for kicking her own cousin from her baby shower.

As the expectant mother revealed in her viral Reddit post, she and her partner were overjoyed and excited when they found out they were expecting following years of miscarriages and infertility issues.

To celebrate the good news, the mother-to-be, whom we shall call Eva, decided to throw a lavish baby shower. Invited to her party were dozens of people including her cousin, whom we shall refer to as Melody.

“My husband and I are finally expecting our rainbow baby after years of infertility and multiple miscarriages. It’s safe to say we and our family are very freaking excited! My mother is probably the most excited. She’s been planning our baby shower and making decorations for months,” Eva explained.

While Eva was “extremely excited” to celebrate her rainbow baby when the day for the party arrived, she was left fuming when her cousin “sabotaged” the event by announcing her own pregnancy.

Problems began when Melody’s mother stopped everyone at the party from eating cake saying her daughter also has some news to share.

Eva’s aunt then allegedly ran to her car to pick up presents and cake for her daughter only to be blocked from re-entering after Eva and her mom found out about her plans to sabotage her baby shower.

“My aunt started throwing a fit, screaming ‘this is a baby shower, it’s for babies. Cousin is having a baby too, so this day is about her too!’” the expectant mom recalled.

“She said it’s not a big deal and we both can share the day. I said absolutely not because we have been waiting for this day forever, and it should be all about me and my rainbow baby.”

Eventually, security was called to escort Melody and her mother out of the venue for screaming and the party continued without them.

After the baby shower, however, Eva’s family allegedly turned on her and slammed her for not agreeing to let her cousin announce the big news at her party.

Eva has since taken the matter to Reddit and asked users if she was in the wrong for kicking her cousin and aunt from her party.

“She wants to share the day because of money. It’s cheaper and easier to bring a cake to a party that’s already set up and paid for than it is to plan and finance your own party,” one viewer wrote as they sided with the expectant mom.

“This was your day, that you’ve been trying to make possible for years. If she wanted to steal the spotlight, she should have spent the money, time, and effort on her own shower or announcement party,” another said.

Not everyone, however, agreed that it was okay to make a big scene out of such a “small” issue.

“Who doesn’t want a second party? Does everyone hate parties and I don’t get it?” one baffled user pondered.
