A distraught new mom has spoken out and revealed the bizarre reason why her husband refuses to pay for half of her hospital bill.
According to the young woman in question, she and her husband-of-seven-years recently welcomed their first baby into their family.
While everything was looking good, the 32-year-old mom was left stunned when her fuming husband lashed out at her for getting an epidural and “other extras” during her labor.
An epidural is a type of medical procedure that involves injecting an anesthetic into the epidural space around the spine to provide women with pain relief while allowing them to stay conscious and alert throughout labor.
As the woman in question explained, her outraged husband found out about the injection and called it a luxury while insisting he refuses to pay for any part of the $8,000 bill.
“Throughout my pregnancy, I planned to go for an unmedicated natural birth with as little intervention as possible,” the woman wrote in her lengthy post.
She went on to explain that she “caved in” and decided to get an epidural after more than a day of painful labor. She also said her husband encouraged her to get the injection.
Problems began, however, when the hospital bill arrived and interrupted the “newborn bubble of bliss.”
“You’re the one that couldn’t hold out for a few more hours and jacked up the bill with all your meds and an extra nights stay,” the man then allegedly told his wife.
He went on to call the epidural, overnight stay, and nursery fees a luxury that he isn’t willing to pay for.
After the woman called him out and slammed him for not being supportive, the husband branded her a “princess” saying she demanded “extra add-ons” because she is spoiled.
The woman has since admitted she is considering a divorce – a next-step-action proposed by hundreds of baffled viewers who weighed in on her viral story.
“I’d be absolutely DONE if my husband pulled this shit. His kid too, his cost too,” someone said.
“Holy sh*t. Throw the whole man out,” another wrote.
A third suggested: “I can’t believe what I just read. You should seriously consider dumping this piece of trash if he refuses to change his mind and apologize!”
