‘I’m A ‘Benefits Mom’ But I Also Spend More Than $12,000 On Christmas Gifts For My Children Because They Deserve It’

While many parents try not to spoil their children by giving them more than what they need, others take the extra mile to make Christmas Day extra special for their kids.

Whitney Ainscough, 30, has faced criticism for spending too much on Christmas presents for her kids but she has defended her decision as she is determined to make her children’s dreams come true.

In an interview with The Sun, she said: “I don’t care what the trolls think. I’m a benefits mum, living in a council house who’s spending thousands on her kids for Christmas, and I’m proud. I am spoiling my kids because they deserve it.”

The mother-of-three has revealed that her gift list includes extravagant presents for her young children: Adley, 2, Addison, 6, and Cora, 11.

Ainscough said that each child will be receiving at least ten boxes, along with some treats before Christmas and stocking fillers.

She also revealed that Cora’s wish list includes a $1,400 gold bracelet while 6-year-old Addison wants the latest iPad and iPhone as well as a top-of-the-range VR gaming kit.

“Why not?” the proud mom asked. “I was legally entitled to. I worked in a chemist for many years and only stopped because the wraparound childcare costs after I had my youngest made it too expensive. I put in, so it’s fine to take out.”

Even though she spends thousands for her kids, she claims that she doesn’t buy any lavish gifts for herself.

“Seeing them happy on December 25 is all I need,” she added.
