Cyrus then sang the line ‘I didn’t want to fight’ before adding ‘but we did.’

The singer then ad-libbed the lyrics to boast about her win, singing: “Started to cry but then I remembered… I just won my first Grammy!”

Fans have taken to social media and said that they believed Cyrus’ extra lyrics were direct swipes at her ex-husband, who is thought to be the subject of the popular track.

Someone else added: “Genuinely would have loved to see Liam Hemsworth’s reaction to all of this.”

It was in December 2018 when Liam and Miley got married but in August 2019, they announced their separation, with their divorce being finalized in 2020.

Flowers, which was released on Liam’s 33rd birthday, also seems to include a reference to their awkward red carpet moments and their Malibu home burning in the California wildfires.

In the song’s opening verse, Miley sings they ‘built a home and watched it burn.’

It was believed that Cyrus wanted to keep their on and off relationship and was surprised when her ex filed for divorce in 2019.
