The Duchess of Sussex has revealed that she was writing a daily journal before she and the Duke of Sussex quit their royal duties.
In a new interview released this week, Meghan Markle said that she was packing up ‘personal matters’ from their Frogmore Cottage when she stumbled upon her diary.
“You go back and you open drawers and you’re like, Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there?” she expressed.
This led to fears that her diary during her stay in the UK will ‘trigger warning signals’ for senior members of the Royal Family.
Author Margaret Holder, who wrote ‘Diana: The Caring Princess,’ said: “She had enough time in the royal fold to learn secrets, some decades old, which could cause embarrassment and heartache for the Queen and her family, but could earn a fortune for Meghan.”
Speaking to The Sun, a source close to Prince Harry said: “I’d be very surprised if Meghan wasn’t writing a book.”
Ms. Holder claimed any book by the Duchess of Sussex would be more explosive than Diana: Her True Story, which gave the Princess of Wales’ story about her marriage to Prince Charles.
“The revelation that Meghan rediscovered what she was writing in her journal at Frogmore Cottage must trigger warning signals to the Royal Family,” she said.
“For Meghan, a book about her time with the royals offers a great opportunity for settling scores, naming those who offended her, and hitting back at a system she didn’t understand and was unwilling to learn.”
Meghan told magazine The Cut that she and Harry were ‘happy’ to leave the UK, adding that they were ‘upsetting the dynamic of the hierarchy… just by existing’ before they stepped down from their royal duties.
She also revealed more ‘truth bombs’ during her new episode of Archetypes podcast, saying that she was treated like a ‘black woman’ for the first time when she started dating Prince Harry, and that ‘things really shifted’ for her when she married into the family.
