The Duchess of Sussex ‘has no intention of returning to the UK’ as she ‘doesn’t care’ what people in Britain think, a royal biographer claims.
Meghan Markle, who lives in a $14 million mansion in Montecito, California, with her husband Prince Harry and their two children, sees Britain as a ‘lost cause,’ said Tom Bower.
Speaking to The Sun, the commentator said: “Meghan’s ultimate destination is unclear, but she certainly has the backing to make a bid to star as an American politician.”
“In parallel, Britain is a lost cause for the Sussexes. In truth, I suspect Meghan no longer cares whether she is welcome in London. She has no intention of returning,” Bower continued.
He also said that while Meghan’s fame has dropped in the UK, her visit to New York was a ‘remarkable success’ and that she enjoys support among ‘the young, minorities, and Democrats.’
This comes after the duchess was branded ‘that minx’ by the Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who thought the former actress was ‘a self-seeking troublemaker.’
Bower also suggested that the Sussex’s silence over the Queen’s announcement that Camilla would become Queen Consort was ‘Meghan’s way of declaring war.’
In the announcement, the Queen spoke of her ‘sincere wish’ that Camilla will be known as Queen Consort when the time comes.
According to reports, Prince Harry is believed to have contacted his father, Prince Charles, to have ‘friendly video calls’ before his grandmother’s Jubilee.
The Duke of Sussex was expected to return to the UK for the memorial service of the Duke of Edinburgh in the spring and Her Majesty’s Jubilee in the summer.
