The Duchess of Sussex has changed her mind over the titles of her children, Archie and Lilibet, after having conversations with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, a royal expert has claimed.
Royal commentator Neil Sean said that Meghan Markle previously disregarded the importance of titles.
She and her husband Prince Harry both lost their HRH status in 2020 after they’ve decided to quit from their royal duties but are still allowed to use their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.
The couple’s children do not have titles and there is still no decision about it since Harry’s father, Charles, became King.
During her interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, Meghan seemed to have dismissed the importance of titles.
“All the grandeur surrounding this stuff is an attachment I don’t personally have. I’ve been a waitress, an actress, a princess, a Duchess – I’ve always still just been Meghan, right?”
She added: “I’ve been clear on who I am, independent of all that stuff, and the most important title I’ll ever have is mom. I know that.”
Mr. Sean now claims that the Duchess had a change of heart as she now sees how useful titles can be, especially for both Princess Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie.
He also said that Meghan now believes titles are important for her and her children.
“Harry and Meghan are very, very keen to cling onto those royal titles,” the royal expert went on.
“After much deliberation, Meghan decided that the titles would be a good thing, not just for her but for both her children too.”
He also said that the former actress has become very friendly with senior members of the Royal Family, predominately Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
“After this, Meghan realized how useful a title can be, particularly when you want to move in the correct circles.”
