‘Sorry!’ Meghan Markle, 42, Makes A Heartfelt APOLOGY As She Describes The Reason Why She Was ‘Late’ To Invictus Games


The Duchess of Sussex has made a heartfelt apology after she missed the start of Invictus Games.

Meghan Markle took the stage and delivered an emotional speech as she saluted those who attended the event for disabled and wounded military veterans.

Her husband, Prince Harry, took a back seat and let his wife take the spotlight.

This is the first time Meghan and Harry have been seen together at the event, with an insider saying that the duchess did not read her prepared speech.

Aides also said that the Suits alum did her own make-up and hair after arriving at a 5-star Dusseldorf hotel.

The Invictus Games is being hosted by Dave Coker of the Fisher House Foundation.

Mayor Stephan Keller of Dusseldorf was also in attendance where Harry and Meghan interacted with families.

The Duchess of Sussex made an adorable reference to her kids Archie and Lilibet during her speech, explaining that she had missed the start of the event as she spent time with her children, buying them milkshakes and taking Archie on the school run before flying to Germany.

She also told the crowd that she would one day bring her kids to the event so they could also experience it.

Wearing a black Banana Republic dress, she said: “It is so special to be here sorry I’m a little late to the party. I had to spend a little more time getting our little ones settled at home and get them to drop off.”

She continued: “Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you. It is amazing and I hear it has got off to a good start so far.”

The crowd cheered and the Duke of Sussex and be seen smiling and clapping.

Meghan also said she visited a Fisher House in LA and how it ‘moved’ her. The organization, which is one of the main sponsors of the Invictus Games, helps veterans as well as their families.

“They understand, as does my husband does in previous Invictus Games how much rehabilitation matters, not just a solitary experience but as a family,” she expressed.
