The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were shouted at by a heckler the moment they arrived at a New York awards show.
Photographers were seen waiting in the rain outside the Midtown Hilton hotel to capture images and get the attention of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who received a Ripple of Hope gala award for addressing mental health and racial injustice.
While being escorted through huge crowds, the father-of-two could be heard saying “so many questions.”
In a video shared on social media by ITV journalist Fred Dimbleby, a heckler can be seen shouting at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
As Harry steps out of the vehicle, a woman can be heard announcing: “That’s him! That’s him!”
A man then says: “Harry, over here!”
Harry can be seen waiting for Meghan to step out of the car with an umbrella when a heckler suddenly jumps in.
The pair do not reply to the man, who shouted: “Meghan, you’ve destroyed the Royal Family!”
Hosted by Kerry Kennedy, the Ripple of Hope awards honor individuals for their charitable efforts.
The Sussexes received an award for their campaign against mental health issues and ‘structural racism.’
During the event, they were seated alongside actor Alec Baldwin.
Meghan and Harry later gave an interview on the stage where they talked about their life since stepping down from their royal duties and moving to the US.
The former actress also spoke about experiencing suicidal thoughts while ‘trapped’ in the Firm.
This marks Meghan and Harry’s first public appearance since the trailer for their Netflix documentary was dropped.
The Royal Family is said to be worried the show will contain further allegations that can be very damaging.
One person in contact with a Netflix production insider reportedly said: “I genuinely think it’s going to be worse than the royals can imagine. I’m told that it’s going to be utterly explosive and will be very damaging.”
