The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a huge announcement about their next move.
Taking to their Archewell website, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have revealed that they will be supporting a new charity – Equimundo – which was set up ‘to engage men and boys as allies in gender equality.’
The new post on the couple’s Archewell website reads: “The 2023 data shows that men are increasingly involved in caregiving and would like to increase their care work at home, although deeply ingrained social norms and a lack of supportive policies and power structures discourage them from doing so.”
Their statement continued: “The report recognizes care work as the bedrock of society, and calls for continued advancements towards gender equality. It also emphasizes the need for media representation that normalizes men’s caregiving roles.
It concluded: “The Archewell Foundation is proud to have supported this report, as well as Equimundo’s continued work to promote gender equality around the globe.”
This comes as the Sussexes’ business ventures remain unclear after their Spotify deal was axed.
But there is no doubt when it comes to their charitable work.
In April, the charity founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006 – entebale – grew by over 50 percent in the last year.
The Duke of Sussex’s financial documents reveal that he made the huge donation which the charity says will be for rebuilding their programs ad improving the quality and reach of their work.
According to reports, Harry is set to travel to Africa for a Netflix documentary-style movie, with the Duke set to follow the footsteps of his mother, the late Princess Diana.
