Jared Sayre from the US faces a severe backlash on TikTok after expressing his views on the sensitive matter and suggesting staying at home to watch kids isn’t a real job.

“Do you know how many single mothers are out there that actually have jobs and have to come home and do your job?” the man said in his viral video.

He went on to provocatively suggest that being a stay-at-home mom is easy and “a privilege” rather than a real job.

“I was laid off from work for four months, and I had to stay home, and it’s the easiest s*** I’ve ever done in my life. I can do all the daily responsibilities that come with taking care of a house in no time and then other than that all you have to do is watch your kid,” Jared, who is childless, continued.

“And I’m not knocking stay-at-home mothers, I have respect for them, and I honestly think the world needs more of them because it’s good for the kid.”

Despite his alleged support for stay-at-home parents, the man concluded his post by playing down the work that stay-at-home parents do by saying:

“You can’t take a nap at a full-time job, you can’t watch TV at a full-time job, you have someone watching your every move at a full-time job demanding that you do what they say.”

After his post went viral, Jared faced a massive backlash from people who said he was not only rude but also terribly wrong due to his lack of experience in the area.

“Look, I don’t have kids either, but I grew up with three siblings, a stay-at-home mother, and a stay-at-home stepmother. I witnessed first-hand the stress that comes with maintaining an entire house, Olympic diving across the kitchen to save your child from putting its hand in the garbage disposal 50 times a day, listening to constant screaming and meltdowns,” a fellow content creator, Dustin Poytner, said in a viral response to Jared.

“And most importantly, trying not to cause irrevocable physical and psychological harm to an innocent human being who didn’t ask to be here. So, let’s not play contrarian to things we have zero experience of.”

Fellow parents quickly joined in on slamming Jared and his views.

“Someone leave him alone with at least two kids under five for a week and see how he does,” someone wrote.

“Wait a minute stay at home mothers are watching TV and taking naps? I must be doing this wrong,” another said.

A third complained: “I’ve been both. Being a stay a home mom is way harder.”
