A young man has sparked a lengthy debate after he took to social media and complained about having to go to work every day.
“Sorry probably not the motivation you need for today,” Lucas said in the caption.
His viral video starts with him sitting in a car and putting his seatbelt on.
“Does anybody actually f***ing enjoy going to work, I wake up every day and I say ‘F*** this,” he said.
His video shared on TikTok has received more than 100,000 views, with boomers slamming his opinion about work.
One user wrote: “S*** it up princess, you got until you’re 65 to 70 years old.”
Another commented: “Be thankful that you have a job, I’ve been trying to find a job for a year and people who are complaining about their job p**s me off no end.”
A third said: “You need to appreciate what you’ve got bro, some people don’t get the opportunity to have a job.”
Lucas ended his rant by complaining about his job satisfaction.
Other TikTok users said that they loved their job and suggested the millennial change his occupation.
“Change job and quit complaining,” one person commented.
“Because you’re working on a job you don’t like. Quit and find a new one that you enjoy mate,” another said.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, corporate coach Kathy McKenzie said that the number one thing millennials hate is unnecessarily being told what to do by older bosses.
She also said that the problem is more evident when boomers tell younger employees some obvious instructions.
Many boomers slammed ‘lazy’ millennials for complaining about working conditions.
Dianne, 66, said: “Youngsters are leaving the workplace because they’d rather sit home on Centrelink payments than doing an actual job. I’ve worked with young managers and ones who are well over retirement age. Being a f***wit is actually a defect which is found across the age spectrum.
“If your boss is lacking in this quality, you’ll be miserable at work regardless of his/ her age bracket.”
Another said: “One day this generation will be in charge. We’re all doomed.”
A third said: “So are these whiny, weak babies that quit their jobs moving back in with mummy and daddy? How are they supporting themselves?”
