The parents of Madeleine McCann have spoken out after the young woman who claimed to be the missing British girl received DNA test results.
Julia Wendell or Julia Faustyna made headlines after she created an Instagram account where she announced that she believed herself to be the missing daughter of Kate and Gerry McCann.
She recently traveled to the US with the help of private investigator Dr. Fia Johansson and appeared on Dr. Phil to discuss her claims while waiting for DNA test results.
Despite her physical similarities with Madeleine, the DNA test results showed that she is not Maddie.
The McCann have continued to search for their daughter and campaigned tirelessly since her disappearance.
A Facebook page for the Official Find Madeleine McCann Campaign has been created to post updates and answer questions about the search.
According to a website affiliated with the FB page, Gerry and Kate are two of the several directors on the campaign.
After Julia’s DNA test results showed that she is not Maddie, someone asked on the Facebook page: “Is there any chance of giving us an update? There has been a lot of media about a girl claiming to be Maddie and DNA being done? Is it possible to let your followers know what is going on?”
A spokesperson for the couple replied: “There isn’t anything to report at this time. If and when there is, it will come from The Metropolitan Police.”
Dr. Johansson, the private investigator who helped Julia during her search for the truth, reportedly said: “She is absolutely 100% from Poland. She is a small percentage of Lithuanian and Russian. But the test results show she is Polish. Julia had all the birthmarks as Madeleine McCann, which I believe is God and the universe’s way of wanting us to get close to the man who s*xually abused her, expose him and his possible ties to the McCann case.”
Julia has since returned to her father in Poland after receiving the results of her DNA test.
