Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be invited to King Charles’ Coronation despite recent attacks on their bombshell Netflix docu-series, sources told Daily Mail.
Several sources told the news outlet that the King graciously extended an olive branch to the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes and told them that they will still be welcomed.
It is understood that the monarch’s view hasn’t changed despite new allegations thrown at the Royal Family as part of the couple’s $100 million dollar deal with Netflix.
In the Netflix documentary finale, the Duke of Sussex accused his father of being a liar when they discussed his and the Duchess of Sussex’s future at the Sandringham Summit in 2020-
Harry said it was “terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that just simply weren’t true and my grandmother quietly sit there and sort of take it all in.”
He also claimed that senior royals became jealous of Meghan’s popularity that they became determined to tear her down by planting negative stories about her.
It is understood that with only less than six months to go until his Coronation, the monarch doesn’t want to be side-tracked by ‘family drama.’
“Harry is his son and His Majesty will always love him. While things are difficult at the moment, the door will always be left ajar,” a source said.
Plans for the Coronation are moving forward, with the King and Queen Consort visiting Westminster Abbey as part of an extensive reconnaissance.
It is also understood that Camila, the Queen Consort, has already chosen her own crown.
Palace officials are believed to be dreading the publication of Harry’s memoir, spare, in which it is anticipated that further allegations will be made.
