The monarch seemed to be in good spirits when he arrived at the event for Christian communities in King’s Cross.

He was in Luton in Bedfordshire for engagements, which has also seen him stop by the newly-built Guru Nanak Gurdwara and Liton Town Hall.

Royal correspondent Richard Palmer of The Express said: “The King was asked if he’d seen Harry and Meghan’s Netflix programs and, predictably, sidestepped the question.”

Charles met voluntary organizations and community leaders and was greeted by the Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Susan Lousada, and the mayor of Luton, Councilor Sameera Saleem.

But during his visit, an egg was thrown at the King as police quickly arrested a man on suspicion of common assault.

In one of the episodes of the Netflix docu-series, Prince Harry has appeared to take aim at his father by claiming his friends in Botswana ‘literally brought me up.’

“Botswana is a country very close to my heart. The fact that I spend more time here than at home worries my father a lot,” he said.

The Duke added: “I’ve got a second family out there. A group of friends that literally brought me up. For me, it’s always been quite special. So it was absolutely critical to share it with Meg.”

In addition, Harry claimed his relatives asked why his wife should be ‘protected’ from media speculation.

“But what people need to understand is, as far as a lot of the family were concerned, everything that she was being put through, they had been put through as well.

“So it was almost like a rite of passage, and some of the members of the family were like ‘my wife had to go through that, so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently? Why should you get special treatment? Why should she be protected?’”

“I said ‘the difference here is the race element’.”
