Kanye West has threatened to withdraw from Coachella unless Billie Eilish apologizes for her remarks regarding Travis Scott.
The 44-year-old rapper took to Instagram and said no one intended for the Astroworld tragedy to happen and that “Trav didn’t have any idea of what was happening when he was on stage.”
He then issued an ultimatum and said: “I need Billie to apologize before I perform.”
Kanye wrote on Instagram: “Come on Billie we love you please apologize to Trav and to the families of the people who lost their lives.”
He also said that Trav had no idea of what was going on while he was performing on stage, adding “he was very hurt by what happened.”
“And yes Trav will be with me at Coachella but now I need Billie to apologize before I perform,” he concluded.
According to reports, Eilish replaced Scott on the Coachella after the Astroworld tragedy.
She commented back and said: “Literally never said a thing about travis. Was just helping a fan.”
This comes after the Ocean Eyes singer stopped her show to give an inhaler to a fan who was experiencing difficulty breathing.
After noticing the fan who couldn’t breathe, she directed medical staff to administer aid and asked other people to step back and let the fan regain composure.
“I wait for people to be okay until I keep going,” Eilish said.
Her comment then prompted the audience to start cheering for her and then she resumed her performance.
The Astroworld tragedy occurred on November 5 last year when Scott’s fans started acting aggressively. During his performance, ten people passed away from the effects of various ailments, including asphyxiation and cardiac arrest.
