Kanye West was spotted in Los Angeles wearing a US flag jacket and a pair of Balenciaga rainboots but it was evident that he covered the logo with his own sticker that read ‘YE24’.
The 45-year-old rapper made a statement by covering up the Balenciaga logo with his own after his ex-wife Kim Kardashian refused to cut ties with the fashion company.
This comes after the artist slammed Hollywood stars for not speaking out against Balenciaga.
Speaking to TMZ on Friday, Kanye said: “This just shows you all celebrities are controlled. You don’t see no celebrities talking about the Balenciaga situation.
“All of these celebrities out here, don’t let them influence you in any way, because they’re controlled by the people who really influence the world.”
“They’re not serving God,” he added.
His ex-wife Kim has been slammed for refusing to cut ties with Balenciaga.
On Sunday Night, she broke her silence and denounced the brand, saying she was ‘disgusted’ and ‘shaken’ to see the photos of children.
The SKIMS mogul has essentially become the face of Balenciaga and she gas been featured in many of the brand’s campaigns.
But internet users doubted Kim’s statement and many claimed that it wasn’t sincere. Others also questioned why she refused to cut ties with the Spanish brand.
“I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been shocked and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened,” Kim said on Instagram.
“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by those disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and anything against it should have no place in our society – period.”
Kim also said that she is currently re-evaluating her relationship with Balenciaga.
