Jennifer Aniston hit back at fans who complimented her appearance, especially those who tells her that she looks ‘great for her age’.
The 54-year-old actress has revealed that she gets annoyed when she receives compliments that include ‘for your age.’
“It drives me bananas,” she told British Vogue. “I can’t stand it. That’s a habit of society that we have these markers like, ‘Well, you’re at that stage, so for your age…’ I don’t even understand what it means.”
The Friends star has been focusing on her fitness regime in recent years and believes her body and mind are in far better shape than when she was in her 20s.
“I’m in better shape than I was in my 20s; I feel better in mind, body, and spirit. It’s all 100% better,” she said.
Jennifer also hopes that she can enjoy a happy and long life with the help of her holistic approach to wellness.
“My family lives a long time, especially my dad’s side. I want to be thriving, I don’t want to just be alive,” she went on.
The star also revealed that she has made changes to her workouts, revealing lower impact excises give her better results than more difficult exercises.
“It used to be pounding, pounding, pounding. You had to get 45 minutes to an hour of cardio; otherwise, you weren’t getting a workout,” she said.
“Not only do you stress your body, you burn out – who wants to do that at all?”
In an interview with USA Today earlier this year, she said that she wanted her body to thrive.
“I’m always up on the newest technology and [wondering] how can we improve our health in any way we can?” she added.
“We’re all going to get older. We’re all headed to that exact same spot. But we can take care of our skin. We can have a healthy diet. We can drink lots of water.”
