JUST IN: Jay Leno RETURNS To Work After Being Severely Burned When One Of His Vintage Cars Exploded In His Face


TV host Jay Leno was spotted driving his car in Los Angeles more than a week after suffering serious burns when his steam engine car suddenly bust into flames while he was working in his luxurious garage.

The 72-year-old car enthusiast returned to the studio and said that he will go back on stage this Sunday.

He also told photographers that ‘everything’s okay’ and even joked ‘I need barbecue’ instead of getting some rest.

This comes only a day since he was discharged from the Grossman Burn Center where he was treated in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

According to reports, Leno suffered serious burns to his face, hands, and chest when his vintage 1907 steam engine exploded.

Dr. Peter Grossman has previously warned that Leno may suffer from permanent scarring but he added that he’s optimistic the comedian ‘will make a full recovery.’

“Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received and is very appreciative of all the well wishes,” the burn center said.

“He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends, and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday.”

The former late night TV host was seen in three different cars throughout the day.

Leno first arrived in his 2002 Mercedes, which he joked might be the latest car in his huge collection. He was then seen driving a light-blue two-door vintage Maserati before he was spotted whipping around the neighborhood in his grey vintage Corvette.

He assured photographers that he was ‘hangin’ in’ and recovering well.

When asked whether he would return on stage soon, the comedian said he would be.

“Yeah, I’ll be performing Sunday at Comedy and Magic club Sunday,” he said.

When photographers encouraged the 72-year-old to get some rest for his fast healing process, he joked: “Yeah, I need barbecue.”
