“And that’s how we do it!” the 23-year-old wrote on Twitter after the show, adding: “My Dads Speech Made Me Cry.”

His dad struck the comedian on stage after Rock made a joke about the hair of Jada Pinkett Smith, who is currently battling autoimmune disorder alopecia.

Will then used his acceptance speech to defend storming onto the stage and hitting Rock. With tears running down his cheeks, he said: “Love makes you do crazy things.”

Jaden’s post has been retweeted over 42,000 times and was met with mixed reactions from people. Some social media users alleged the rapper was a ‘hypocrite’ because he previously tweeted: ‘Praying For Peace In The World.’

Others criticized the Summertime in Paris singer for his post, with hip-hop artist Ruslan commenting: “No it’s not how you do it.”

Twitter user irishman3370 also wrote: “Jaden. Really? Will was in tears after he slapped Chris. And has to be consoled by Denzel and Tyler. That’s not how we do it. That’s not how we do at all.”

“Could have been done a bit more peacefully man. I agree that Chris made a HORRIBLE joke, but instead of nearly punching him and cussing him out, Will could have went up on stage, talked to him about alopecia, tell him it’s a serious condition, and well, Smith would be a hero,” @HarrisonBecker7 wrote.

“No sir. It’s not. Chris was very wrong but so was Will. Let’s acknowledge where we go wrong pliz. It’s a No No. And am a huge fan. Any way I hope y’all solve this issue but it has overshadowed Will’s win. I ain’t happy at all but he deserved the award,” added @emilynick1.
