“Hi Jasmine, Please find below your payment link following yesterday’s clean. Please click the link and select your preferred payment method. Thank you for your business,” he wrote.

Responding to the message, his wife hilariously said: “Get a grip we’re married with 3 kids.”

As it happens, Marc wasn’t really trying to make his wife pay for the cleaning. After his post went viral and racked up hundreds of comments, the father-of-three explained that he and his wife love joking about what they ‘owe’ each other.

“It took me half a day, it was hard work. I remind her of that all the time as well. That would have cost $800, she got a bargain there. We do the sofa regularly but I do a clean like that every six months,” he said.

“I love making people laugh, to see a smile on someone’s face and to know you’ve done it is really satisfying.”

After becoming a viral sensation, Jasmine the mental health nurse also broke her silence and shared more insight about her relationship with Marc.

“When I saw the message I eyerolled and thought ‘It’s just typical Marc.’ He usually says it to me, ‘you can pay me later wink, wink’ that sort of thing. He usually makes a joke about how he’s babysitting and I have to remind him that they’re his kids,” she said.

“Then I threaten to bill him for child care services, cooking, cleaning and organizing all the birthday presents – all those types of things. He won’t be getting that payment of $800. There will be some response to him I’m just biding my time.”
