A heartbroken mother has spoken out after her daughter spent thousands to transform into a horse.

Nicole, one of the stars of TLC’s My Strange Addiction, talked about her obsession with ‘pony play’ and how much she enjoys it.

“You become an animal mentally, and act accordingly,” the 31-year-old said. “Being a pony is amazing. For me, this is probably the biggest source of happiness in my life.”

Nicole from San Diego, California, also revealed that she has been roleplaying as a horse for five years and has spent thousands of dollars on costumes.

“What other people think, that doesn’t bother me,” she explained. “You know, this is who I am. Accept me or don’t, but I’m not changing for anyone.

She also said that she couldn’t imagine her life without pony play.

“I love my addiction to pony play more than flies love c**p! Pony play allows me to indulge in the pretend play that all of us came to know and love as a child.”

Even though she likes to horse around, her mother does not completely support the idea.

“It is definitely odd to see my daughter dressed up as a horse,” she expressed. “If a person wants to dress up like an animal, that’s weird.”

Nicole’s aunt also expressed her frustration with the ‘pony play’ and said that her niece looked ‘ridiculous.’

Recalling the moment she saw Nicole in one of her costumes, she said: “Holy cow… Holy horse! I thought it looked pretty ridiculous.”

But that did not stop the aunt from supporting Nicole for doing things that make her happy.

“I know you beat to your own drum, you know?” she said. “So do what you do.”
