The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reached out to the Prince and Princess of Wales after she revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were understood to have contacted Prince William and Kate but it was not clear if it was via video call, phone, or messages.
The contact between the estranged brothers was revealed by ITV Royal Editor Chris Ship.
Reports also state that the possibility of whether the couple would return to the UK to see the Princess is still not known.
Many reports also claimed that Harry and Meghan only learned about Kate’s diagnosis after the Princess made the announcement to the world.
Harry had previously described his brother’s wife as the ‘big sister I never had’ but his relationship with the couple has deteriorated after they stepped down from their royal duties.
Harry and Kate last saw each other after the late Queen passed away in September 2022.
Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in a video message released by Kensington Palace. She explained that the cancer was found after her planned abdominal surgery.
“The surgery was successful, however, tests after the operation found that cancer had been present,” she said.
“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.”
The Princess of Wales continued: “But most importantly it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I will be okay.”
Only hours after the revelation, Harry and Meghan released a brief statement wishing Kate and her family ‘health and healing.’
