The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be ‘worried that they are being eased out of the Royal Family’ after their profiles were moved to the bottom of the Royal webpage alongside Prince Andrew, a royal biographer claims.
Links taking viewers to pages dedicated to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were previously seen just below Prince William and Kate Middleton.
But after the Queen’s death, the webpage was updated and the Sussexes were moved all the way to the bottom.
Speaking to The Sun, royal biographer Phil Dampier said: “Harry and Meghan must be worried that they are slowly being eased out of the royal picture.
“King Charles seems to be hesitating on whether to grant Prince and Princess titles to Archie and Lilibet.
“And the fact that they have been “demoted” on the Palace website is another indicator that they are not seen as working royals.”
This comes as the newly-crowned monarch is widely reported to be planning a ‘slimmed-down’ monarchy as he believes the public doesn’t want to pay for an ever-expanding Royal Family.
In a new royal book titled Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown’ written by royal author Valentine Low, the late Queen allegedly told Harry and Meghan that they were ‘either in or out’ at the crunch Sandringham summit where members of the Royal Family decided the future of the Sussexes.
Mr. Dampier think that King Charles and the new Prince of Wales may also ‘feel the same way.’
“There was a very clear view: you can’t be in and out,” a source said to Mr. Low.
“And if you’ve got such clarity of view, it’s very difficult to say, ‘Why don’t we go 10 percent this way instead of 20 percent?’”
Mr. Dampier believes that the huge change on the Royals webpage will make it clear the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not working royals ‘and can’t pose as semi-official royals.’
