The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen arriving in New York by private jet to accept an award for their ‘heroic’ stand against ‘structural racism’ in the Royal Family.
Meghan Markle was beaming as she and Prince Harry jumped into an SUV before heading to the Big Apple.
The mother-of-two wore an all-black outfit she matched with large sunglasses while the duke sported a buttoned-down white shirt he partnered with black trousers.
The couple are set to receive a human rights award at The Ripple of Hope gala.
But the Royal Family started to brace themselves for new allegations from the Sussexes when the first bombshell trailer of their Netflix documentary was released.
In the trailer for their bombshell show, Harry alleged that they had suffered from ‘leaks and planted stories’ that backed up the ‘hierarchy’ of the Royal Family.
Their allies also told the streaming giant that there was a ‘war against Meghan to suit other people’s agendas.’
One person close to the couple eve claimed that “it’s about hatred, it’s about race.”
However, royal insiders were quick to say that it was ‘absolutely wrong’ to suggest Harry and Meghan had been briefed against, and insisted ‘unprecedented steps’ had been taken to give them support.
One source told the Daily Telegraph that the royal aides were instead ‘bending over backwards to work with them,’ adding it was ‘non-stop on their behalf’ when it came to defending them against negative reports.
Another insider also said that the narrative comparing the Duchess of Sussex to Kate, the Princess of Wales, was ‘fabricated’ with no difference between how they were treated by the press.
