A man has revealed how he was left having a hard time looking at his wife after she underwent elective cosmetic surgery.

Taking to Reddit, the husband explained that he was ‘extremely against’ the idea of his wife undergoing surgery but she still went ahead because it was ‘her body and her choice.’

“A few months ago she mentioned she was going to get it done, we discussed it and I was extremely against it,” he wrote.

The husband said he thought undergoing cosmetic surgery was dangerous and a waste of money, adding that he found it ‘unappealing.’

“I again told her that it was a bad idea, she looked great, I find the results unattractive and that she should really think about what she is doing. She told me her mum would take her if I didn’t. It’s her body but I was very adamant that I was against it,” he went on.

Six weeks later, his wife was happy with the results, which were what he expected.

“I feel she has mutilated herself. I have always thought my wife was beautiful I have told her this since day one and have maintained this feeling for as long as we have been together.”

The husband said he had a hard time looking at his wife, admitting he got a sense of loss and sadness.

“My wife says I’m being ridiculous and un-supportive and I’m responding with ‘I told you exactly how I would feel and you did it anyway, what did you expect?’”

Reddit users were left divided but many agreed with the wife, with one person commenting: “This is exactly it. She absolutely can make a choice for herself.”

Another said: “She’s right, it’s her body and her choice. You’re also not attracted to that and that’s not your fault. You can’t force that. You made it clear and it was a choice she made. She can’t be mad at you for not liking something you said you wouldn’t like.”
