The incident involving the soldier of the British Army took place at the Horse Guards in Westminster, London, where two parents were visiting the historic building with their young daughter.

In an attempt to get a picture with a member of the Life Guards that passed through the front door of the building, the little girl ran closer to the guard and stood still in front of the archway leading to the building.

That’s when the soldier, who was wearing his ceremonial uniform, shouted “stand clear!” at the top of his lungs, prompting the child to run away from the door and seemingly burst into tears.

The short clip quickly went viral on TikTok where viewers were left divided.

Why some suggested the soldier was incredibly rude to the young girl, others said she was in the wrong for blocking his path and leaving him with no other option than to tell her to move out of the way.

“Kings Guard: They still think it’s Game of Thrones,” one person said.

“He didn’t have to shout at the child, he could tell her nicely to move if she was really blocking him,” another said.

The third mocked the soldier saying: “How brave of you to scream at a little girl.”

Some viewers, however, rushed to the soldier’s aid and slammed the girl’s parents for allowing the child so close to the guard.

“People really think he’s going to be like ‘oh excuse me sweetheart can you move?’” one person wrote.

“Swear people come to London thinking it’s gonna be like Disney Land,” another joked.

A third said: “I stand with the King’s guards. How clueless are her parents?”
