A mother was left in tears after no one showed up at her young daughter’s birthday party.
27-year-old Breanna Strong from Salt Lake City, Utah, went viral on TikTok after revealing her 3-year-old daughter Avery was left devastated when no one showed up at her long-awaited birthday party.
According to the young mom, 27 children were invited to the event, whereas 13 of them RSVP-ed with a ‘yes’. Despite all the confirmations, not a single child showed up on the day of her daughter’s birthday bash.
The mother-of-three has since slammed “careless” parents for ruining her daughter’s birthday and wasting her time and money after she spent thousands on pizzas, cake, drinks, and the KidsTopia Playground venue fee.
“I created my own invitation and sent it to multiple friends, with responses of, ‘We will be there,’ ‘Can’t wait, the kids will be so excited,’ etc.” the fuming mom told DailyMail.com.
“I even created a Facebook event. I invited 13 different families, with 27 children amongst them all.
“The day before her birthday party there were seven families who had RSVP’d saying they were coming. I was accounting for 13 kids to come.”
Breanna also explained that three families changed their response without any explanation on the morning of the party while several other families didn’t even bother to change the RSVP to no.
“I received messages from those who were invited informing me, ‘It was an awful morning with the boys,’ or, ‘I’m so sorry. We forgot,’ or, ‘I wish we could have come! The kids aren’t feeling well.’ To me it was very careless of the parents who were invited,” she added.
“I sent texts, posted in the event on Facebook several times and even made a post on Instagram about how excited Avery was about her party tomorrow. It’s a lot of time, effort and money to set up special events for anything. RSVPs are not what they use to be.
“I also feel like parties have unfortunately died out during COVID. I’m still disappointed in what happen but I know there is always next year.”
