‘Friends’ main cast have broken their silence following the heartbreaking death of their beloved co-star, Matthew Perry.
Perry, who starred as Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom, was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home.
His co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow have released a joint statement telling fans they are heartbroken by the actor’s sudden passing.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” their statement read, according to PEOPLE.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Perry starred as Chandler Bing alongside Aniston as Rachel, Kudrow as Phoebe, Cox as Monica, Schwimmer as Ross, and LeBlanc as Joey.
The show was a smash hit all over the world when it aired from 1994 to 2004.
On Sunday, a source told Page Six that Friends cast “is reeling from the loss of their brother, because that’s what Matty was – their brother.
“It’s just devastating.”
According to reports, Perry’s assistant found him underwater in his hot tub.
Captain Erik Scott of the LAPD said: “Los Angeles City Firefighters responded [and] found an adult male unconscious in a stand-alone hot tub.
“A bystander had brought the man’s head above the water and gotten him to the edge, then firefighters removed him from the water upon their arrival.
“A rapid medical assessment, sadly, revealed the man was deceased prior to first responder arrival.”
