‘The Boys’ star Erin Moriarty has decided to quit Instagram after ex-Fox News host Megyn Kelly’s comments about her appearance.

During an episode of Kelly’s podcast with The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles, the 53-year-old claimed that Moriarty was ‘obsessed’ with cosmetic surgeries.

“I thought it was just an AI-generated face… but apparently it’s real,” Kelly said in the January 17 episode.

Kelly continued: “She’s done this to herself… She’s got the Kim Kardashian lips. She’s made her nose so skinny it looks like a pencil now. She’s got, like, what appear[s] to me to be cheek implants.”

She then said that more and more young women are now undergoing plastic surgery. “It’s not about an objection to plastic surgery, it’s about an obsession with turning yourself into this fake version of yourself… I find it like a sign of mental illness.

“I really want to get in the heads of these young girls and say, ‘Please don’t do this.’”

Moriarty then took to social media and addressed the issue.

In a lengthy statement, Moriarty said: “This is something I truly never anticipated writing. We’re all subject to levels of bullying throughout our lives but I am horrified, and I felt that I deserved to take a second to address these things.

“I had no idea what was going on, to be honest, because I’ve had one of the most challenging weeks of my life. And I specifically thought that as I emerge this period of time – so stressed that I have BARELY been able to eat and sleep.”

She then slammed Kelly’s remarks as ‘false.’

“To receive a message about a disgustingly false, counterproductive to the degree of being ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly commenting on the manner – to learn the widespread nature of this has left me horrified,” Moriarty went on.

She explained that she got her makeup done to make herself feel ‘pretty’ but she was left ‘in tears’ after reading the comments.

“This is becoming false news,” she added.

Fans were quick to defend the star, with one person saying: “I’m sorry this happened, Erin. You leaving social media temporarily (or permanently) is totally understandable. Just know that the real fans stand behind you. Bullying is NOT okay.”

Another said: “Being a woman in this world is so f****** hard. Hope you come out of this okay.”
