Emma Stone has suffered a wardrobe malfunction while she was accepting the Oscar for best actress for ‘Poor Things’ at the 96th Academy Awards.
While getting ready to accept the award, the Easy A star could be seen holding the back of her dress after the zipper busted down.
The 35-year-old actress said in tears: “My dress is broken. I think it happened during I’m Just Ken.’
When she finally regained her composure, Stone proceeded to thank her family. She also talked about her daughter, Louise Jean McCary, describing how she turned her ‘world technicolor’ and that she would turn three in a few days.
“I love you bigger than the whole sky,” she added.
Stone and Dave McCary welcomed their first child in March 2021, a year after they got married.
This marks Stone’s second Oscar win, seven years after she received the award for lead actress Oscar for La La Land.
During her speech, Stone also revealed how she ‘panicked’ as she thought of receiving the award.
“Y orgos [Lanthimos] said to me, please take yourself out of it,” Stone expressed. “And he was right, because it’s not about me. It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts.”
The star also thanked Lanthimos for the ‘gift of a lifetime’ in portraying in ‘Bella Baxter.’
