Elton John’s representative has issued a statement after he was rushed to a hospital where he was examined and kept for observation.
The 76-year-old was in his Mont Boro villa when he suffered ‘a slip’ and was taken to Princess Grace Hospital. He was discharged the following day.
A spokesperson for the music legend reassured fans that he was now in ‘good health’ and resting at home.
In a statement shared by PEOPLE, the representative said: “Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure. Following checkups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”
This is not the first time the ‘I’m Still Standing’ star has suffered injuries in the past few years.
In 2021, the singer postponed his tour dates to 2023 after he ‘fell awkward on a hard surface,’ leaving him in ‘considerable pain and discomfort.’
The incident also resulted in him undergoing further treatment and surgery.
In a statement, John said at that time: “I have been advised to have an operation as soon as possible to get me back to full fitness and make sure there are no long-term complications.”
The singer also revealed the extent of his injuries and said that he was in agonizing pain.
“I wouldn’t be 100% fit, I wouldn’t be 100% confident, because I’m in pain most of the time with my hip,” he said in an interview.
“I can’t move sideways, can’t get in and out of a car, and the decision had to be made because I wouldn’t want to go on stage and give less than 100 percent.”
Before his final shows in Stockholm and Copenhagen, his husband Furnish said that the star was ‘jubilant’ that his touring career was about to end.
“Now it’s time to spend more time together as a family,” he told Metro.

The headline made it sound like he was dying. A little extreme to say the least. I’m sorry he fell and got hurt
