JUST IN: Drew Barrymore, 47, Says ‘IT HURTS So Much’ After She Has Been Ghosted By Someone She Dated


While Drew Barrymore is open to dating, it is not her first priority as she revealed how she was ghosted by someone she dated.

Appearing on Jay Shetty’s podcast On Purpose, the 47-year-old actress and TV host spoke openly about her dating history, letting go of unproductive relationships, and her societal expectations of love.

One of the stories she shared was the moment she was ghosted by someone after their first date.

Recalling the incident, she told Shetty that it was a great date.

“I went on a date with this guy. I thought it was the best date. I mean it really was,” the mother-of-two shared.

Barrymore continued: “We made a plan for that weekend and we were texting back and forth and it was so cute, and I was like, I really like him. What a nice guy. I was attracted to him. I loved his job because he was in the news business and I love news, and I’m like, ‘oh my god this is so cool.’

“I never heard from him again. I guess that’s what you call getting ghosted. I was like, whoah, that is so, that is so weird. OK.”

During the podcast, the actress became very emotional as she talked about her love life.

“I’m really good at giving [love] to my daughters and to my friends, but I’ve noticed how much of my history with the romantic space, I am so stuck, and I’m the person who doesn’t want to be stuck,” she expressed.

“I want to know what work I can do to take my walls down, believe and trust,” she said, adding that she was “still scared, or nervous.”
