A frustrated wife was left wondering whether she should divorce her husband upon discovering that he was calling her ‘ST’ in text messages to his friends.
Posting on Reddit to seek advice on her situation, she explained that she needed to say something important to her mother but her phone died so she had to use her husband’s device.
But while composing a message, a notification from a group chat appeared, with the message asking her husband about their Halloween plans.
The text message read: “Hey (husband), do you and ST still want to (Halloween plan we’d talked about)?”
After reading through the past conversations, she confirmed that she was being called ST but it left her baffled that the letters were not her initials.
“I showed him the chat and asked what it stood for,” she wrote. “He looked suddenly really flustered. He grabbed his phone back and said ‘oh uhh it’s nothing, just a nickname.’ Okay? Well what’s it stand for? He literally wouldn’t tell me…he just kept saying ‘don’t worry about it.’”
She kept on asking her husband about what it stood for as she wanted to know if she was being mocked or not. He then told her that it was short for ‘super terrific.’
But the wife wasn’t convinced and thought she was just overthinking until she finally found out the truth.
“I ended up getting a text from one of my husband’s female friends in his group chat, the day after I posted here. Turned out that right after I asked him about the nickname, he told all of them I’d seen it and to stop calling me that,” she said.
The friend then revealed that ST stands for ‘sausage t***.”
“I don’t even know how or why it started. I cannot fathom the thought that my husband could have described my b**bs in detail to all his friends. And then they thought it sounded hilarious enough to make a nickname out of?” she continued.
Even though her husband had sincerely apologized, she was left wondering if she should leave him or not.
One person commented: “I can’t even imagine disrespecting my partner like that. Let alone telling people and joking about it.”
Another commented: “I would raise hell if anyone commented on my girlfriend’s body in a remotely questionable way, I cannot f***ing imagine joining in on it.”
