A mom couldn’t contain her excitement as she is set to become one of the youngest grandmothers in the UK after her 14-year-old daughter told her that she was pregnant.
33-year-old Kerrie Coles and her daughter Hollie Holgate will welcome the newest member of the family in February next year.
Kerrie said that she was only 16 when she gave birth to her eldest daughter, Millie, and then welcomed her second child, Hollie, only a year later.
Hollie said she feels ‘comfortable’ stepping into parenthood knowing that her mom also became a mother at a young age.
“Following her footsteps and taking her advice makes me reassured that I can do a good job,” the 14-year-old expressed.
Kerrie is now excited to see her daughter become a mom. “When she told me I cried. I was scared when we first found out, it wasn’t really happiness – I was terrified for her,” she admitted.
“I am looking forward to seeing Hollie grow as a person. I am looking forward to seeing her grow up and see how she is as a parent. I can’t wait to get my baby cuddles in without giving birth.”
Hollie said that she would follow her mom’s advice as she praised her for being a ‘strong role model.’
“Knowing my mum was a young mum makes me feel comfortable with talking to her about everything and knowing she can give me the best advice,” she added.
She also said that the family of her baby’s dad is also supportive.
“I felt overwhelmed, I was shocked and I didn’t know how I was going to adjust to something so big,” Hollie continued. “I was so relieved that Mum stuck by my side, I felt mad at myself for disappointing her.”
