A father has hit back at NFL fanatic dads who have criticized Taylor Swift for stealing attention while watching her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Robert People from Florida shared a video on TikTok and slammed other dads who have described the ‘You Belong With Me’ hitmaker a ‘distraction’ and blamed her for taking Kelce’s focus off the games.
In his video, which has gained over 1.4 million views, he shared his thoughts on sports enthusiasts who ridiculed the singer.
“Those of you people out there, especially grown men, expressing all this nasty, ridiculous hate for Taylor Swift just for existing and supporting her boyfriend in the NFL, keep in mind, Taylor Swift’s not gonna see or hear any of that,” Robert said in his video.
“But you know who will? Your daughters,” he added.
The dad then explained that by spreading ‘juvenile hate,’ they are ‘encouraging’ their own daughters to ‘shrink themselves.’
“Because if they do anything more than that, if they just decide to be themselves, they’re gonna get a whole lot of hate from not only the world but from people just like you: their own parents,” Robert went on.
“We need to do better, straight up.”
Speaking to Today, Robert explained that he has a 16-year-old daughter who watches football and ‘pays attention’ to what he says and does.
He went on and said that people should not be treating Swift negatively and that parents should worry about what their daughters would think.
“It’s wrong to treat anyone this way. If you don’t know much about her, then don’t say anything,” he expressed.
“She’s a human being and people reduce her humanity.”
