A couple with a 42-year age gap has defended their strong relationship after critics slammed the wife for only wanting to take her husband’s money.
It was in 2016 when Jackie and Dave met on a dating website.
The 69-year-old, who lives in the US, made the first move by asking the 27-year-old Filipina whether she wanted to get a coffee with him while he was visiting Cebu, Philippines.
Jackie and Dave have been married for over three years now.
In a TikTok video they shared, David explained: “Jackie and I first met via an internet site called Cherryblossoms. I was in Cebu in the Philippines at the time when I was using that website and I noticed Jackie’s profile.
“I sent her a message and said I liked her profile and I was interested in meeting her.”
Jackie added: “I gave him my phone number and the next day we met up at Starbucks and he gave me a chocolate chip cookie. Then we went to Jollibee for lunch.”
Dave said that Jackie was shy at that time and because she was also tired from work, he did 95 percent of the talking.
“You could feel there was enough of a connection there to want to get together again. So Jackie and I got together a few more times before going back to the US,” he went on.
“That was the beginning of a wonderful relationship that is still going strong.”
The couple slammed those who called Jackie a ‘gold digger.’ In another video, they said: “So there is a 42-year age gap. She’s 27 and I’m 69 and to us it doesn’t make a bit of difference.”
Their sweet clips together have earned them more than 30,000 followers on TikTok.
