Applegate used her walking stick as Anderson helped her to the stage.

Moved by the emotional standing ovation, she buried her head in Anderson’s shoulders and burst into tears.

She then said in tears: “Thank you so much. Oh my god, you’re totally shaming me [and my] disability by standing up.”

The actress then joked: “It’s fine. OK. Body not by Ozempic. OK let’s go.”

“I’m gonna cry more than I’ve been crying,” the actress said, telling viewers that she landed her ‘breakout role’ as a baby on Days of Our Lives.

She continued: “It’s been an honor to play funny, flawed, [and] complex characters like the women nominated for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.”

“There was the sense of, ‘Well, let’s get her some medicine so she can get better,’” she expressed.

“And there is no better. But it was good for me. I needed to process my loss of my life, my loss of that part of me. So I needed that time.”

But she added that she had a ‘duty’ to her work.

“If people hate it, if people love it, if all they can concentrate on is, ‘Ooh, look at the cripple,’ that’s not up to me,” Applegate added.

“But hopefully people can get past it and just enjoy the ride and say goodbye to these two girls.”
