Over $400,000 has been raised for a Burger King employee who received a bag of candies for never missing a day of work in 27 years.
55-year-old Kevin Ford went viral after he revealed the contents of the goodie bag, which had a few pens, a bag of Reese’s Pieces, a coffee tumbler, and movie tickets.
In the video, the grateful father said that ‘loyalty pays off.’
Ford, who joined the company in 1996 as a single dad to gain custody of his children, left many social media users shocked that the Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport branch of the burger chain did not give him more.
One Twitter user wrote: “This is all y’all could do for this man?”
Another described the video as ‘depressing’ and ‘embarrassing’ for the company.
Some suggested that the father deserved an ‘all expense paid trip’ or an entire franchise.
This prompted Ford’s daughter Seryna to setup a GoFundMe page asking people do make donations if they ‘feel like blessing him.’
Seryna said that the amount would be used to allow Ford to ‘visit his grandchildren.’
“My dad continues to work there, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement,” she explained.
In an update, Ford said that he was able to see his grandchildren in Texas thanks to all the donations.
“The miracle of generosity of so many people all around the world has allowed me to save for retirement and my children’s and grandchildren’s futures and even to someday soon own my own home dreams really can come true,” he said.
Ford said that he planned to work at Burger King for at least three more years.

I would be so happy they gave me the bag because it allowed me to make $400,000 lol 😂. Now how does he continue to work there.
For is retirement
He was clearly stating that not only did he receive candy he got almost half a million dollars. The question is referencing to the fact that this is public and is bound to receive backlash from any of the people he works with. They will be salty
