A bride who revealed that she allowed her husband to sleep with her bridesmaid has shared why she allowed it to happen.
Katey from Plymouth, UK, and her boyfriend Dan, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Devon.
However, their celebration seemed to be far away from normal as they had an unconventional setup involving the bridesmaid.
In an episode of Love Don’t Judge, Katey explained that their bizarre relationship started when they met another couple during a retreat who introduced them to the idea of ‘open’ relationships.
After Katey and Dan got married, they asked one of the bridesmaids to enter the bedroom with them.
“We ended up taking one of my girlfriends up to our bedroom. We had some drinks,” the bride shared. “She’s one of my best friends so it was very comfortable.”
Dad also said of the experience: “To do it on such a special day just makes it so memorable.”
Even though they enjoy their ‘open’ relationship, Katey revealed that her family was not impressed and even branded them as ‘friends with benefits.’
“I think a lot of the judgement I received has been from my family. They disapproved of what I was doing and they don’t really speak to me anymore because of it,” Katey went on, adding that her family said it was ‘disgusting.’
But the couple insisted that they have many friends who support the nature of their relationship.
When asked if they ever felt jealous when their spouse is intimate with a friend, Dan responded: “The jealousy is kind of part of it, it makes things more exciting.”
