In a heated exchange that took place on the Fifi, Fev and Nick Hit show, a bride-to-be named Jess lashed out at her best friend, Olivia, after the latter suddenly announced she wouldn’t be attending her wedding because her priorities were elsewhere.

The Aussie woman told Jess she would have to pick a different bridesmaid because she’s looking forward to going to Taylor Swift’s concert in Melbourne on February 17 – the same day the wedding will take place.

“Obviously the whole Taylor thing, we’ve been talking about it and you’ve been saying how annoying it is that people have been backing out,” Olivia said, referring to the wedding guests that already backed out of Jess’s wedding because of the concert.

“But I haven’t told you I got tickets for the Saturday and this was done before Christmas. However, I was thinking of trying to compromise here and make it work.”

Olivia went on to suggest she could take off from the concert early to catch the reception that will take place an hour away.

“I feel really bad, I do but I have loved Taylor for so long, you are aware of this and you knew how hard it was to get tickets,” she added.

Not having any of it, Jess hit back at her best friend saying she should have told her about her ticket to the concert sooner.

“You’ve known this before December and it’s three weeks until my wedding and you’re telling me now? I’m getting married in the Yarra Valley, how are you going to go to Taylor Swift and then come back? How is that even possible?” the bride said.

“You want to miss a part of my wedding to go to a Taylor Swift concert? You know how much this has been annoying me that people have been dropping out to go to her and you’ve known all along that you’re going to go to her concert.”

After the heated exchange, Olivia admitted she felt like a bad friend. And while she tried to apologize to Jess and explain her decision to keep her plans secret for so long, Olivia refused to back out of the concert calling it a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The conversation quickly went viral on social media where viewers sided with Jess and told her to get new, better, friends who won’t prioritize concerts over her wedding.

“This bride needs new friends. The friend defending her dog act by saying it’s a once in a lifetime chance, so is your best friend’s wedding,” someone wrote.

“Girl just swap your tickets with someone for one of the other nights. I love Taylor too but I’d never pick her over my best friend,” another suggested.
