Brendan Fraser’s acting in ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ has divided viewers as they can’t decide whether that’s a bad or good performance.
After taking a long break from the spotlight, the actor made a huge comeback with an Oscar win for his impressive performance in the film ‘The Whale’ and also made an appearance in ‘No Sudden Movie’.
In Killers of the Flower Moon directed by Martin Scorsese, the actor’s performance has sparked varied reactions among audiences.
One viewer took to X/Twitter and wrote: “As someone who admired Brendan Fraser’s acting in the movie The Whale, his acting in Killers of the Flower Moon was one of the worst acting performances I have ever seen in my life.”
Another said: “Everything about his voice, to his body movements feels extremely unnatural. It feels like he is reading off a script while he is speaking. And the way he overacts, feels extremely off. I know he is supposed to do this, but he isn’t supposed to do it so badly.”
A third added: “Brendan Fraser’s entrance in Killers of the Flower Moon. It was almost like he was dragged out from the set of The Whale.”
But many fans have rushed to the actor’s defense, arguing that it was an impressive performance, citing the book and Scorsese’s directorial authority.
“Brendan Fraser delivers his first line in KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON like he’s the GOAT and he knows it,” one person said.
“The fact we are talking about Brendan Fraser’s mere 2-minute performance in KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON only proves how memorable he was. He made the most of what little screen time he had,” another added.
