A woman’s video has gone viral on social media after she revealed that her boyfriend pays for their rent and other bills without knowing that she is actually the landlord.
TikTok user @jaynedoee0 said that she has been living with her boyfriend in their apartment for about a year.
Her boyfriend pays for their rent, essentials, and bills, but he doesn’t know that she’s been taking the rent money as she’s the owner of the flat.
“I’ve lived here with my man for a year now. He pays the rent and all the bills,” she said.
“He has no idea that I own this place and have lived here for five years. So his direct deposits are going straight to me.”
Her video has gained more than two million views and left internet users divided on whether it is a clever idea or not.
Some people think that she was just using her partner and that her actions were wrong and sneaky.
“So she doesn’t pay any of the major bills just milks him for it?” one person asked.
“That’s wrong. He’s just being used. Poor guy,” another wrote.
“Not a boss move. If she owns the spot then tell him. Bills still have to be paid. No one can live for free so why stunt like it cool to lie?” a third added.
“On one hand this is lit. on the other hand if he finds out the relationship is over. Trust is gone forever,” someone else said.
Because she’s a landlord, she has to pay for the mortgage of the property, insurance, and property tax.
“I mean she still has to pay the mortgage on the building,” one person said.
“Apartment rent doesn’t get pocketed. It goes to taxes and the mortgage,” another wrote.
